Patricia Underwood is a visual artist and educator who has lectured widely on the social and spiritual meaning of her art.  She has had one-person shows in Washington, DC, Chicago and St. Louis, MO.  Her work has been included in selected shows in several cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Washington, DC, Buffalo, NY, and Phoenix AZ.  Many private collections own her work. The National Museum for Women in the Arts Library and Research center owns "Spirit: Within/Without", one of her collaborative pieces. In addition to exhibiting, she now lectures on her work and its relationship to body image and gender issues. 

Ms. Underwood attended Miami University, Oxford, OH, and Washington University, St Louis, MO.  She has taught drawing, printmaking, visual foundations and color theory at several colleges and universities, most recently at the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, MD.  She currently teaches at the Landon School in Bethesda. MD.
