Askia Muhammad

On Saturday, September 14, 2002 in Fort Worth, Texas the US Postal Service issued a stamp honoring four women journalists, among them Ethel L. Payne.  In 1975, Askia Muhammad photographed Miss Payne at a Chicago Blackbook Magazine Awards Banquet, holding hands and saying a prayer with former USA TODAY columnist and radio host Barbara Reynolds.
